Once again, an engaging story by Juliet in which the main character, a young woman fleeing violence, remakes herself into a stronger person. Loosely based on the Beauty and the Beast tale. Wonderful setting, great romance. The Audible version is excellent.

Patricia ranks up there as one of the masters of the fantasy epic. Her prose is enviable. This series inspired my own years ago. Always, her settings are luscious, her characters deep, the stories mysterious and engaging. What I admire the most is her ability to create magical systems in which the characters are already masters or improving on skills and we get to experience the highest levels of the arcane art. Love everything she's written.
The Trident and the Pearl
Sarah K. L. Wilson
Engaging romantsy set in a world with elements of the Greek gods. Strong and reflective main character, Queen Coralys, who makes a bargain with the sea god to save her people. Wolrd building is vivid. I enjoyed the tension in the plot and had a hard time putting it down!
